Martello Dirompente

CARDEX BACKGROUND

The story behind this Trainer card

Crushing Hammer attempts to cut off an opponent's Energy resource. The player flips a coin and, on heads, chooses an Energy attached to one of the opponent's Pokémon to discard. No removal is promised on tails. The target can belong to any opposing Pokémon, not only the one in the Active Spot. The effect therefore leaves the choice of victim until after the uncertainty of the flip.

A detail worth noticing

Chance determines whether Crushing Hammer can remove an Energy, but does not choose the target. After a favorable result, the player selects the Energy attached to an opposing Pokémon. The text does not restrict this target to the Active Spot.
