CARDEX BACKGROUND

The Pokémon’s story

Ursaring travels forests looking for food in tall trees and streams. Despite its imposing body, it climbs to eat or sleep. Its nose also detects what lies underground. When it finds a tree bearing fruit or Berries, it marks it with its claws. The Pokédex describes a methodical explorer whose traces signal places where it may return to feed.

Background on the species in the video games; its forms and card versions may have appeared later.

A detail worth noticing

Pokémon Black says Ursaring marks fruit-rich trees with its claws. Pokémon X notes that its sense of smell finds even buried food. Its search therefore extends from the ground to the branches despite its large size.
