CARDEX BACKGROUND

The Pokémon’s story

Scyther emerges from tall grass with a speed that makes it difficult to follow with the eye. Its scythe-shaped forearms grow sharper through battle and can fell a tree in one blow. Young individuals gather in the mountains to learn to handle their blades and move quickly. It rarely uses its wings to fly: its hunting relies chiefly on ground speed and the precision of its attacks.

A detail worth noticing

In Pokémon Shield, several trees felled in the same place mark a Scyther’s territory. This visible trace allows its presence to be inferred even when it moves too fast to be seen. Pokémon Ultra Moon adds that in Alola, its speed has earned it the nickname “ninja”.
