CARDEX BACKGROUND

The Pokémon’s story

Primeape pursues prey or an opponent for as long as its anger lasts. When it becomes enraged, its blood circulates faster and its muscles grow stronger, at the cost of less reliable judgement. Even a Poké Ball is said not always to calm its fury, according to research cited by the Pokédex. Challenging its gaze, fleeing or striking it is enough to provoke different reactions. Its strength is therefore closely tied to a mood that is almost impossible to soothe.

A detail worth noticing

Pokémon Ultra Moon describes particularly resilient blood vessels in Primeape’s brain, which are said to allow it to remain angry for a long time. Pokémon Moon even cites research suggesting that a Poké Ball does not end this state. The Pokédex presents this fury as a lasting characteristic.
