CARDEX BACKGROUND

The Pokémon’s story

Dolliv produces fresh, pleasant oil that it willingly shares with those around it. This habit accompanies a long coexistence with humans. It likes basking in the sun until the fruit on its head ripens. Then it leaves inhabited places and sets off on a journey. The Pokédex thus shows a life in two phases: peaceful closeness to villages, followed by departure linked to its oil reserve's ripening.

A detail worth noticing

Pokémon Scarlet emphasizes that Dolliv's oil is tasty and that it gives it to others. Pokémon Violet specifies when it leaves: it moves away from human settlements after letting the fruit on its head ripen in the sun.
