CARDEX BACKGROUND

The Pokémon’s story

Talonflame chiefly hunts other bird Pokémon. It approaches quickly, produces sparks with its plumage to intimidate, then dives on prey and strikes with its talons or a powerful kick. During these attacks, the Pokédex credits it with speeds of up to 500 kilometres per hour. Its passage sometimes leaves embers behind. This spectacular hunter owes part of its effectiveness to feathers capable of resisting the fire they accompany.

A detail worth noticing

Pokémon Ultra Sun reports that firefighters’ outfits were once made from Talonflame’s fire-resistant feathers. It is a surprising detail for a bird itself associated with flames: its plumage is said to have protected humans exposed to heat.
