CARDEX BACKGROUND

The Pokémon’s story

Sinistcha likes cool, dark places, such as the back of a shelf or the space beneath a house's floor. After sunset, it leaves its hiding place to look for prey. It pretends to be tea so a person will drink it, then tries to drain their life force. The Pokédex specifies, however, that this deception rarely succeeds. Its hunt therefore relies less on an open attack than on a misleading invitation from the corners where it hides.

A detail worth noticing

Pokémon Violet places Sinistcha's hiding spots behind shelves and under floors, then describes it emerging after nightfall. Pokémon Scarlet recounts that its tea trick is ineffective despite its plan to drain the deceived person's energy.
