CARDEX BACKGROUND

The Pokémon’s story

Diglett digs shallow tunnels and prefers to stay away from light. Turned earth behind it reveals its passage. In fields, this underground work loosens the soil and can favour harvests; farmers raise it for that reason. Yet its diet of roots sometimes causes problems for crops. Some farmers even border their plots with trees it likes to attract it where its tunnels will be useful. This small burrower can be both helper and nuisance.

Background on the species in the video games; its forms and card versions may have appeared later.

A detail worth noticing

Pokémon Ultra Moon explains that farmers place trees Diglett likes around their fields to encourage it to plough. Pokémon Moon also credits it with fertilising the soil. This agricultural partnership therefore depends on its natural habits, without eliminating possible damage to roots.
