CARDEX BACKGROUND

The Pokémon’s story

Girafarig keeps watch on what happens behind it thanks to the small head at the tip of its tail. This head has its own brain, responds to sounds and smells, and can bite a creature that approaches. It does not need to sleep and continues keeping guard while the main head rests. The Pokédex thus describes constant vigilance shared between the two ends of one body.

Background on the species in the video games; its forms and card versions may have appeared later.

A detail worth noticing

Pokémon Alpha Sapphire says the rear head's brain is too small to think, but it does not sleep. Pokémon Omega Ruby notes that it reacts to sounds and smells. Its watch therefore operates even without thought comparable to that of the main head.
