CARDEX BACKGROUND

The Pokémon’s story

Seviper sharpens its tail against rocks before fighting. This blade lets it strike and inject venom. Its most frequently mentioned opponent is Zangoose: their rivalry has lasted for generations, and Seviper's scars bear witness to these repeated encounters. The Pokédex thus presents a fighter marked by an old feud, whose main weapon owes as much to its cutting edge as to the poison it carries.

Background on the species in the video games; its forms and card versions may have appeared later.

A detail worth noticing

Pokémon Alpha Sapphire gives Seviper's tail two functions: cutting and poisoning. Pokémon Omega Ruby explains that its scars come from battles with Zangoose. Its body markings and the upkeep of its blade tell the story of the same rivalry.
