CARDEX BACKGROUND

The Pokémon’s story

Linoone pursues prey at speeds that may exceed a hundred kilometers per hour. Its runs follow an almost straight line: if an obstacle appears, it must turn sharply around it or stop before turning. This limitation sometimes makes it miss its target despite its momentum. The Pokédex also describes its fur as strong and supple. Its movements show a particular balance between acceleration and poor cornering; its whole hunt depends on the route it can trace.

Background on the species in the video games; its forms and card versions may have appeared later.

A detail worth noticing

Pokémon Omega Ruby specifies that Linoone avoids an obstacle by changing direction at a right angle but struggles with gentle curves. Pokémon Alpha Sapphire adds that it sometimes has to stop abruptly before turning, even when hunting at full speed.

Printed card text — English

Quoted source text is retained in the card’s printed language so this exact printing can be identified. The CarDex background above is translated into English.

Description from the source

It charges prey at speeds over 60 mph. However, because it can only run straight, it often fails.
