CARDEX BACKGROUND
Exeggcute looks like a handful of eggs, but the Pokédex classifies it among Pokémon associated with plants. Its six members stay together, communicate telepathically and quickly reunite when separated. Their number matters: if one is missing, the group becomes anxious and tries to flee. Cracks in their shells signal that evolution is approaching. Beneath this familiar appearance lies a precise collective life, with its own signals, movements and balance.
Background on the species in the video games; its forms and card versions may have appeared later.Pokémon Ultra Sun relates that a missing member of the group of six may be replaced by the following morning. Pokémon Shield adds that the members become nervous when the group is incomplete. This number is more than an illustration detail: it is part of their behaviour.
Quoted source text is retained in the card’s printed language so this exact printing can be identified. The CarDex background above is translated into English.
