The Pokémon’s story

Chansey places others at the centre of the encounters described by the Pokédex. When it sees an injured Pokémon, it shares its nourishing eggs. The precious contents of its pouch thus become a resource offered to another. Its gentleness is more than appearance: it shows itself through a concrete act that puts a weakened being’s needs ahead of preserving its own supply.

A detail worth noticing

Chansey’s appearance does not tell the whole story of its speed. Pokémon Shield relates that this species, once slow, acquired the ability to flee quickly to protect its eggs. Their value is therefore said to have influenced how it moves.
