CARDEX BACKGROUND

The Pokémon’s story

Luvdisc lives near coral reefs in warm seas and likes sleeping between Corsola's horns. Its heart-shaped body has made it a symbol of love; hotels catering to couples sometimes keep it in their pools. A belief promises lasting love to partners who see it together. Despite this tender image, an isolated Luvdisc may lose vigilance and become an easy target for Pelipper.

Background on the species in the video games; its forms and card versions may have appeared later.

A detail worth noticing

Pokémon Sun reports that a solitary Luvdisc lowers its guard and risks attack by Pelipper. Pokémon Ultra Moon places its resting spot between Corsola's horns. Its romantic reputation therefore hides dependence on its surroundings and others that can matter for safety.
