CARDEX BACKGROUND

The Pokémon’s story

Whimsicott lets the wind carry it and slips through the narrowest openings. It may enter a house on a draught, move objects and scatter its cotton everywhere before leaving again. In sunlight, this cotton swells, then frays when it becomes too abundant. Heavy rain, however, weighs it down and robs the Pokémon of its mobility. Its lightness is therefore both the key to its successful pranks and its main weakness.

Background on the species in the video games; its forms and card versions may have appeared later.

A detail worth noticing

Pokémon Sword relates that a wet Whimsicott becomes so heavy that it can no longer move. This detail places a concrete limit on its talent for drifting through houses on air currents. Pokémon Shield explains that its cotton also swells in sunlight.
