CARDEX BACKGROUND

The Pokémon’s story

Tangela hides its entire body beneath a mass of blue vines that grow continually. Nobody knows exactly what lies underneath. When the vines are grabbed, they break easily, letting it escape painlessly; those that fall off may regrow by the following day. It also uses its vines to immobilise anything that moves. The Pokédex portrays a Pokémon that is difficult to observe: its protection renews itself as quickly as anyone tries to pull it aside.

Background on the species in the video games; its forms and card versions may have appeared later.

A detail worth noticing

In one part of Galar, Tangela’s vines are used as aromatic herbs, reports Pokémon Shield. This unexpected use concerns its fragrant vines, not the unknown shape of its body. The detail gives another value to what normally serves as camouflage.
