CARDEX BACKGROUND

The Pokémon’s story

Slakoth lies down for much of the day and feeds on a few leaves within reach. Its heart beats very slowly, and it saves its movements so carefully that it is rarely seen moving. Its drowsiness seems contagious: watching it can make people want to yawn. The Pokédex describes a life governed by minimal energy expenditure, with eating and sleeping taking almost all the available time.

Background on the species in the video games; its forms and card versions may have appeared later.

A detail worth noticing

Pokémon Omega Ruby puts Slakoth's rest at over twenty hours a day and its meal at a few leaves. Pokémon Alpha Sapphire describes a heart beating only once a minute. Its slowness is therefore presented as a bodily function rather than merely a habit.
