CARDEX BACKGROUND

The Pokémon’s story

Murkrow wakes at dusk and takes flight as night falls. Its fondness for shiny objects leads it to search nests and steal jewellery. This nocturnal activity has fed its reputation as a bird of ill omen, to the point that a proverb advises people to return home before it leaves. Yet the Pokédex also relates that it sometimes offers its finds to a Trainer it has grown close to. The same act can therefore look like theft or a gift, depending on who receives it.

A detail worth noticing

Pokémon X describes reciprocal thefts between Murkrow and Meowth, both attracted to shiny things. Pokémon Ultra Moon explains that Murkrow also searches for objects for its boss. Its collections are therefore not always intended for itself alone.
