CARDEX BACKGROUND

The Pokémon’s story

Flabébé travels on the wind until it finds a flower whose color and shape suit it. Once it chooses, it stays bonded to that flower for life and uses its hidden power. Without it, Flabébé is vulnerable. It also gathers pollen to make the crown on its head. The Pokédex tells of a lasting bond between a small Pokémon and a chosen plant, whose colors can vary between individuals.

A detail worth noticing

Pokémon Ultra Sun explains that Flabébé keeps traveling until it finds a flower it likes. Pokémon Y notes that it never leaves it afterward. The flower's color therefore cannot be inferred from the species name alone.
