The Pokémon’s story
Toedscool lives in damp forests. Its silhouette resembles Tentacool, but the Pokédex specifies that it is an entirely different species. Its slender legs let it run at nearly fifty kilometers an hour. Folds fall from its body; the entries describe them as elastic and tasty. The resemblance to a marine Pokémon can therefore be misleading: Toedscool moves quickly on dry land and belongs to the world of humid forests.

The resemblance between Toedscool and Tentacool does not mean they are the same species, Pokémon Violet notes. The same entry gives it legs capable of reaching 30 miles per hour, or about 48 km/h, despite their slenderness.
