CARDEX BACKGROUND

About the species

Cutiefly feeds on pollen and nectar as it flits from flower to flower. It perceives living beings' auras and thus recognizes flowers about to bloom. This sensitivity also helps it anticipate an opponent's movements and avoid attacks. It appears near Gossifleur to collect pollen but may compete with Butterfree for a field's resources. The Pokédex therefore gives it a sense useful for both feeding and evasion.

This account describes the species in the video games. It does not describe its Trainer’s history or that of this copy, and does not identify the depicted form or sex.

A detail worth noticing

Pokémon Moon reports that several Cutiefly may hover over a person whose aura resembles a flower's. Pokémon Sun credits them with sensing buds about to open. Their search for nectar can thus lead them toward a human figure.
