CARDEX BACKGROUND

The Pokémon’s story

Pinsir seizes opponents between its powerful horns, then may throw them far away. Horn size matters in relations between individuals, and the spikes lining them make escape difficult. Its strength impresses, but cold slows it down; at night, it sometimes shelters beneath a pile of leaves to retain warmth. The Pokédex therefore shows a fighter capable of heavy lifting while remaining dependent on a sufficiently warm environment.

Background on the species in the video games; its forms and card versions may have appeared later.

A detail worth noticing

Pokémon Ultra Sun describes territorial struggles between Pinsir and Vikavolt in Alola, while it seems to get along well with Heracross. Pokémon Shield explains that prey caught between its horns may be thrown far away.
