CARDEX BACKGROUND

The Pokémon’s story

Clobbopus leaves the water to look for food on land. Its curiosity is immediately apparent: it explores its surroundings by hitting objects with its tentacles. These can detach easily but regrow, so losing them does not seem to worry it. The Pokédex compares its intelligence to that of a three-year-old child. This combination of curiosity, abrupt gestures and regeneration explains its very physical way of discovering a place.

Background on the species in the video games; its forms and card versions may have appeared later.

A detail worth noticing

Pokémon Shield notes that Clobbopus's tentacles regrow after detaching and compares its intelligence to that of a young child. Pokémon Sword says it comes onto land to eat and inspects things by striking them with its tentacles.
