CARDEX BACKGROUND

The Pokémon’s story

Deoxys is said to have originated from a virus that arrived from space in a meteorite. After an unexpected mutation, it became a highly intelligent Pokémon capable of telekinesis. The crystal in its chest appears to serve as its brain and can emit beams. Some entries place it near the aurora borealis. Its story thus connects a cosmic arrival with a biological transformation, followed by a body whose luminous centre remains essential to its powers.

A detail worth noticing

Pokémon Omega Ruby attributes the mutation to the extraterrestrial virus's exposure to a laser beam. Pokémon Alpha Sapphire describes the crystal in its chest as a source of beams. The same organ is also said to be its brain, according to the Omega Ruby entry.
