CARDEX BACKGROUND

The Pokémon’s story

Naclstack concentrates rock salt inside its body. It can turn it into small hardened projectiles that it fires with enough force to pierce an iron plate. When hunting, it also spreads salt on its prey. This layer dries it by removing water from its body. The Pokédex thus describes two very different uses for the same material: a forceful shot to keep an enemy at a distance and a slow preparation that dries its catch.

Background on the species in the video games; its forms and card versions may have appeared later.

A detail worth noticing

Pokémon Violet specifies that salt grains fired by Naclstack can pass through an iron sheet after being compressed inside its body. Pokémon Scarlet describes its other method: salting prey until the water it contains is removed.
