CARDEX BACKGROUND

The Pokémon’s story

Hypno tends its pendulum before setting off to seek prey. Its movement and reflections can send someone into deep sleep, after which it tastes the sleeper’s dreams. This ability is frightening, but some Hypno also work in clinics helping patients with insomnia. In Alola, they are said to be particularly interested in Komala. The Pokédex thus gives the same power two very different uses depending on the encounter and location.

A detail worth noticing

Pokémon Ultra Moon mentions Hypno employed in clinics to treat insomnia. Yet Pokémon Moon describes them searching for dreams to taste among sleeping people. The ability that makes it dangerous can therefore also be used in supervised care.
