CARDEX BACKGROUND

The Pokémon’s story

Heracross travels through forests to find sweet sap and honey. Its antennae help it detect promising smells, while its claws grip bark. When defending its food or facing a rival, it slips beneath them and lifts them with its horn. The Pokédex credits it with strength capable of moving a mass far greater than its own. Its clumsy flight contrasts with this power on the ground and in trees.

Background on the species in the video games; its forms and card versions may have appeared later.

A detail worth noticing

Pokémon Ultra Sun describes rivalry between Heracross and Vikavolt over pride in their horns. Pokémon Ultra Moon adds a contrast: Heracross impresses with its strength, but flies rather poorly. Its most spectacular way of moving is therefore not necessarily flight.
