The Pokémon’s story
Pansear inhabits volcanic craters. The tuft on its head can reach intense heat, especially when it becomes angry. It also uses it to roast Berries before eating them, a preparation it seems to enjoy particularly. The Pokédex describes it as intelligent and willing to help humans. Its fire therefore does more than provide defence: it is part of its meals and everyday life.

Pokémon White places Pansear in craters and gives the temperature inside its tuft as 300°C. Pokémon Black relates that it roasts Berries with this heat. An organ signalling its anger also becomes its cooking tool.
