CARDEX BACKGROUND

The Pokémon’s story

Cranidos roamed jungles about a hundred million years ago. Its iron-hard skull helped it knock down opponents or break trees blocking its path. It could then eat their ripe Berries. Individuals also clashed heads with one another; in Hisui, the impact of these duels rang like a bell. The Pokédex portrays a prehistoric animal whose forehead was a weapon, a feeding tool, and a means of confrontation among its own kind.

Background on the species in the video games; its forms and card versions may have appeared later.

A detail worth noticing

Pokémon Moon notes that fossilized trunks broken in two appear in the same layers as Cranidos fossils. Pokémon Sun describes its headbutts against Aerodactyl. Pokémon Legends: Arceus compares the sound of its duels with a bell.
