CARDEX BACKGROUND
The story behind this Trainer card
Escape Rope asks each player to switch their Active Pokémon with one of their Benched Pokémon. The opponent chooses and performs their change first. A player with no Benched Pokémon does not make that switch. The Item organises two successive personal choices without letting you designate the opponent's new combatant for them.
Background on this Trainer card’s printed effect; its edition, language and finish remain distinct.A detail worth noticing
Having no Bench exempts only the affected player from changing their Active Pokémon. The text distinguishes this individual exception from the other player's choice, which remains tied to their own field options.
