CARDEX BACKGROUND
Arcanine moves through ancient tales from the Far East with an almost legendary bearing. Its running is so light that it seems to carry it above the ground, and the flames in its body give it the energy to travel immense distances. The Pokédex relates that witnesses have seen it cover ten thousand kilometres in a day. This speed explains its fascination: even before seeing its strength in battle, people remember the beauty of a passing figure almost impossible to follow.
Background on the species in the video games; its forms and card versions may have appeared later.A legend in Ultra Sun associates an Arcanine with a warlord who set out to conquer an ancient kingdom. The Pokédex gives neither the ruler’s name nor the date of the story. This account above all shows the Pokémon’s enduring place in human memory and tales.
Quoted source text is retained in the card’s printed language so this exact printing can be identified. The CarDex background above is translated into English.
