The Pokémon’s story

Glimmet feeds from cave walls by absorbing nutrients. Its apparent petals are actually crystals of mineral poison. When it needs protection, it scatters toxic powder resembling flower pollen. The Pokédex thus connects a plantlike appearance with a rock-based life. Its false petals and powder cloud may suggest a plant, but their material and effect tell a different story.

Pokémon Scarlet notes that Glimmet's petals are crystallized poison rather than leaves. Pokémon Violet adds that its crystals resemble a flower and that it sprays toxic powder like pollen to defend itself.
