CARDEX BACKGROUND
Hitmonchan trains with the determination of a boxer aiming for the championship. Its fists strike so fast that they slice through the air and can burn with a mere graze. It can twist its punches to pierce hard material. Yet this speed has a limit: after a few minutes of combinations, it tires. The Pokédex shows a persistent fighter that must not confuse a punch's power with the ability to maintain the same pace without rest.
This account describes the species in the video games. It does not describe its Trainer’s history or that of this copy, and does not identify the depicted form or sex.Pokémon Shield limits Hitmonchan's rapid punching combinations to about three minutes before fatigue. Pokémon Sword says even a graze from its fists can burn. The speed that makes it strong therefore also demands careful management of effort.
Quoted source text is retained in the card’s printed language so this exact printing can be identified. The CarDex background above is translated into English.
