CARDEX BACKGROUND

The Pokémon’s story

Conkeldurr carries heavy concrete pillars like walking sticks and swings them to attack with apparent ease. The concrete it prepares is described as stronger than an ordinary mix, although the ingredients are the same. A tradition says it taught humans the recipe for cement two thousand years ago. Yet when a battle becomes serious, it drops its pillars and punches directly.

Background on the species in the video games; its forms and card versions may have appeared later.

A detail worth noticing

Pokémon Black presents Conkeldurr teaching the cement recipe as a belief rather than a verified fact. Pokémon Shield describes another surprising detail: to strike its hardest, it sometimes abandons its pillars in favor of its fists.
