CARDEX BACKGROUND

The Pokémon’s story

Seaking uses its horn to dig into river rocks, creating a nest for its eggs out of the current's reach. Males can then spread their fins and dance before females. Their horns and elegance even divide Trainers who raise the species, each defending their favorite trait. The Pokédex thus brings reproduction, construction and courtship together around a fish whose beauty is not its only quality.

A detail worth noticing

Pokémon Shield notes that the holes Seaking digs prevent the current from carrying its eggs away. Pokémon Ultra Sun compares its horn to a drill capable of cutting into rock. Its most noticeable ornament therefore also prepares a safe place for laying eggs.
