CARDEX BACKGROUND

The Pokémon’s story

Sudowoodo relies on stillness to escape notice. It takes the appearance of a tree, but its body resembles stone more than wood. This imitation reaches its limits as soon as rain arrives, when it seeks protection. An apparently peaceful piece of scenery suddenly reveals a mobile inhabitant, whose camouflage rests on a resemblance that water alone can undermine.

A detail worth noticing

Sudowoodo even has admirers. In Ultra Sun, the Pokédex mentions a magazine devoted to this Pokémon, which is especially popular with older people. Its fans study the length and angle of its arms. A silhouette others mistake for a tree thus becomes a subject of close observation.
