CARDEX BACKGROUND
The Pokémon’s story
Yanma remains still in the air by beating its wings at remarkable speed. From this position, it watches its entire territory. Its field of vision almost completely surrounds its body, so prey passing behind it does not escape notice. It can then dive towards it and perform rapid manoeuvres. The same wings sometimes produce a shock wave strong enough to break glass. The Pokédex thus connects observation, precise flight and unexpected force.
Background on the species in the video games; its forms and card versions may have appeared later.A detail worth noticing
Pokémon X credits Yanma with 360-degree vision without moving its head. Pokémon Y notes that its wingbeats can break windows. The organs keeping it aloft therefore also give it a surprising means of striking.
