CARDEX BACKGROUND

The Pokémon’s story

Goomy lives in shade to preserve the water making up most of its body. If it dries out, it shrinks dangerously. A slimy membrane protects it, while its sensitive horns detect threats nearby; touching these organs can make it freeze. As soon as it detects an enemy, it hides. The Pokédex describes a fragile Dragon-type Pokémon whose survival depends more on moisture and discretion than on a powerful attack.

Background on the species in the video games; its forms and card versions may have appeared later.

A detail worth noticing

Pokémon Shield presents Goomy's horns as danger sensors. Pokémon Ultra Moon explains that water loss can be fatal to it. Hiding in the shade therefore protects both its body and its safety from predators.
