CARDEX BACKGROUND

The Pokémon’s story

Litten takes its time before granting trust. Solitary and undemonstrative, it spends spare moments grooming its coat with its tongue. The swallowed fur then accumulates in its stomach and fuels its fire attacks. This quiet ritual has a second purpose: caring for its appearance also prepares the power it may release later.

Background on the species in the video games; its forms and card versions may have appeared later.

A detail worth noticing

The renewal of Litten's coat involves fire. Pokémon Ultra Moon says it burns its old fur when its coat grows back, twice a year. Flame therefore plays a role in a cycle of bodily maintenance beyond battles alone.
