CARDEX BACKGROUND

The Pokémon’s story

Chandelure settles in old homes, where its flames cast a deceptive light. It waves those burning at the ends of its arms to hypnotise an opponent. Pokédex entries attribute a more troubling power to this fire: it is said to consume souls rather than bodies. Stories of mansions lit by Chandelure even make it a sign of repeated funerals. These accounts present the Pokémon as a presence best observed from a distance, between a luminous trap and a mournful legend.

A detail worth noticing

Pokémon Sword places Chandelure in old residences and explains how it hypnotises: it swings the flames on its arms before its target. The chandelier’s movement thus becomes a hunting technique, far beyond the simple light it brings to a room.
