Anbernic’s announcement names RG476H V1.53, RG556 V1.16, RG Slide V1.50, RG406V V1.30 and RG406H V1.39. Check your model and installed version; support for other devices or versions is not established.

What you need

No external equipment is needed to find the menus. Back up important data before a system update and use only the official package for your model.

What the T820 update adds

Anbernic says its T820 system update is rolling out over OTA to RG476H, RG556, RG Slide, RG406V and RG406H. It adds three modules: RG Home, RG Control Center and RG Button Mapping.

Use only an official update for your exact model and prepare a verified copy of important data before any system operation. Anbernic’s announcement provides a separate offline package link for each of the five models alongside OTA. It is not a universal installation procedure or rollback guarantee: follow the package and console instructions, and never install another model’s package.

RG Home: combine Android and the gaming interface

RG Home brings together the Android desktop and gaming interface. Anbernic says it supports both touch and physical controls.

  • Browse the library by platform or category.
  • The R1 button provides quick access to the gaming interface.
  • Icons and their display order can be customised using the module’s options.

The official source describes these general features without detailing every screen or option for each installed version.

RG Control Center: grouped settings

RG Control Center groups performance monitoring, controller settings and console settings.

Anbernic says it is accessible through Android’s pull-down bar or the left and right screen edges. Gestures and exact menu organisation may vary with software version and console settings.

RG Home and RG Control Center also have built-in self-update modules.

What RG Button Mapping does

RG Button Mapping is intended for games with on-screen touch controls. Anbernic describes it as a tool for mapping those controls to physical buttons and sticks.

The supplied documentation establishes the module’s general function but does not describe the complete process of opening it, creating or editing a profile, positioning controls, saving a configuration, or enabling and disabling it. Those operations are therefore not detailed here.

Find the modules announced by Anbernic

  • RG Home: a bridge between the Android desktop and gaming interface, with library navigation.
  • RG Control Center: performance, controller and console functions through the access points described by Anbernic.
  • RG Button Mapping: mapping displayed touch controls to physical controls for touch-based games.

If your console is not in this article’s compatibility list, do not infer that these modules are intended for it. Anbernic confirms them here only for the five covered models.
