PSP: how to redownload previously purchased content
Want to retrieve a PSP game you already bought? Use the account associated with the purchase and its Download List. Sony says previously purchased PSP content remains downloadable; the store closure prevents new PSP purchases, rather than making every old game something you must buy again.

PSP only. The manual’s documented path depends on actual access to PlayStation Network and the Download List for the account and region concerned. Some content cannot be redownloaded, and some may require a PSP activated with the associated account.
What you need
Required items are listed below; optional diagnostic or backup equipment is marked as recommended.
- No external hardware required.
- Free space on the PSP’s storage: Memory Stick media or system storage, depending on the console configuration.

Before starting: check access requirements
Use the PlayStation Network account associated with the purchase. The PSP manual ties the Download List to content downloaded from PlayStation Store with that account.
Also allow free space on the console’s storage. The documentation says downloaded products are saved to Memory Stick media or system storage.
Sony’s important notices say previously purchased PSP content can be retrieved through the device’s Download List. However, account access, download entitlement and connection must work in your case.
1. Try signing in to your PlayStation account
From the PSP’s PlayStation Network menu, open Account Management and sign in with the account used for the purchase. The manual says signing in is necessary for PlayStation Store and account management functions.
If the PSP requests a system update, do not treat that request as confirmation that online features will remain accessible afterwards. First follow the instruction displayed by the console; without meeting the stated condition, do not continue as though account management were available.
If PlayStation Network sign-in fails or account management is inaccessible, stop here: the supplied documentation does not confirm a workaround or current service availability for your case.
2. Open Transaction Management
If sign-in and account management are accessible, select Transaction Management within Account Management.
3. View the Download List
Open Download List. The PSP manual says this list shows content downloaded from PlayStation Store and lets you redownload some previously obtained content.
Find the desired item and follow the PSP’s instructions if redownloading is offered. Listing an item does not guarantee that it remains eligible: the manual says some content cannot be downloaded again.
If the list or purchase is unavailable
- If the Download List does not open, recheck the signed-in account and whether account management itself is accessible.
- If the list opens but the purchase is missing, check that you are signed in to the account originally used.
- If the purchase appears but no redownload is offered, treat it as unavailable for redownload from that list; the manual allows for some content not being downloadable again.
- If access remains unavailable or the item remains missing on the correct account, do not assign a specific cause without evidence. Keep the account and purchase information for a PlayStation Support enquiry.
Consider activation and region
For some purchased or downloaded content, the manual says a PSP activated with the associated PlayStation Network account may be required. This is content-dependent and cannot explain every error or missing item on its own.
The documentation also says PlayStation Store product availability can vary by account country or region. It does not verify current availability of a particular PSP purchase.
Check the result
The expected result is limited to what the manual documents: the content appears in the Download List and the PSP offers to download it again. If that option is absent, do not try to bypass the restriction with third-party files, ROMs, BIOS files or services.
